Cobare has secured the rights to SC-49, an environmentally sound "green" metal coating system, which could potentially replace the very harmful chromate conversion coatings currently being used. The idea has been around for a number of years and has been worked to a point that is near completion. The final barriers require more funding for specialized test equipment and for support of the company. We have panels that were coated in 1991 and put in salt spray chamber for 168 hours. The panels have been sitting in humid conditions for the last 19 years and still have no corrosion on them.
